Not wise to increase military spending | Orlando Senitnel

In response to Thursday’s letter to the editor by Bruce W. Johnson: I remember when President Reagan increased our military spending and tripled our national debt and several of his programs didn’t work.

Just imagine if we spent huge amounts of money to increase our military now. President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney sent so many jobs overseas and left this country in debt. Adding more military money to our budget now could find us facing a full-fledged depression.

Like Johnson, I was in the U.S. Air Force. I was assigned to the nuclear department, and, believe me, we have enough power to blow up eight worlds.

With our latest technology, drones and many other advances, I don’t think it wise to increase our military spending and the debt that Bush and Cheney left us in.
