As we know, the absurdly expensive F-35 program has been plagued with delays and setbacks, costing billions, while many experts claim it isn’t even that great of a system to begin with.
The Defense Department has grounded its fleet of F-35 fighter jets after one of them caught fire as it was preparing to take off at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
The grounding is the second in a month and the latest in a long string of delays that has plagued the Air Force’s newest fighter aircraft. It comes as the plane was to make its international flying debut during showings to prospective buyers at two air shows in Britain beginning next week.
