Female Legislator Group Pressing Congress on Financial Matters | Politico

Members of the Women Legislators’ Lobby, part of the Women’s Action for New Directions group, are in D.C. today through Friday. Their message: “The need for a balanced approach to the fiscal showdown that does not let the Pentagon off the hook at the expense of further cuts to the critical state and local programs that serve their constituents.”

Group President Nan Orrock, a state senator from Georgia, is leading the lobbying delegation, which is slated to meet with a number of congressional members, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) and Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.).
