An advertising campaign targeting U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte accusing her of cutting social programs to benefit military contractors was launched in Concord Thursday.

The ad, titled “Career,” is funded by the New Hampshire Citizens Alliance for Action and USAction and will run statewide, according to the groups.

The ad accuses the Republican senator of supporting cuts to programs that are vital to vulnerable New Hampshire residents, including Social Security and Medicare, so military contractors can continue making billions in government contracts.

“Sen. Ayotte is trying to balance the budget on the backs of New Hampshire’s most vulnerable citizens,” Cynthia Ward Wikstrom, campaign director at USAction, said.

The ad on New Hampshire airwaves is part of a national campaign targeting members of Congress and pushing the idea that military spending cuts should be part of the plan to reduce the national deficit, according to the groups.

The ad is available at www.Cut PentagonWaste.com.
